 Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will be to manage and develop current customer accounts and to develop both new customers and competitor accounts within Midland and South Westof England nsure maximum growth and achievement of pre-determined bookings and revenue targets and to actively promote the company’s products and services.

This position will report to the UK and Ireland sales manager based in Ireland.

• To meet or exceed sales targets for the Beckman PCC products
• To develop high level relationships with selected customers throughout the organisation from procurement to key scientific staff and use this to develop strategies for customer development
• To strategically manage existing customers, to help protect & develop existing business.
• To find opportunities for new products in PCC.
• To perform all sales activity within the assigned geographic territory such as customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, customer seminars and channel management
• To produce a detailed business plan and visit management activity in line with company strategic targets for assigned customers and territories
• To gather market intelligence and feed it back to the Sales manager and the respective peers in the organisation
• To identify or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities
• Develop negotiating strategies & positions by studying the identified customer base; examining risk potentials estimating customer’ needs and goals
• Close new deals by coordinating requirements with back office; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements as per Beckman Coulter and Danaher business practices
• To increase awareness of the Beckman Coulter PCC product brands by organizing and attending exhibitions, seminars and other events and by conducting direct marketing initiatives alongside other promotional activities as required
• To regularly maintain and document all activities in the Customer Relationship Management database (CRM) effectively and strategic action plan for customers.
• To timely follow-up Sales leads coming through CRM system
• To forecast potential sales accurately on a monthly basis to your Manager
• To involve technical personnel to resolve customers issues and problems as needed
• To control sales expenses and support achieving financial goals

Qualifications & Experience
• The ideal candidate will be educated to a third level qualification in a science field. Analytical chemistry could be an advantage.
• 1-2 years previous experience of technical selling within the Life Science market place is an advantage but not essential.
• Solid understanding of sales skills as prospecting, qualifying, closing, and growing existing customers are preferred.
• Laboratory or Process experiences are an advantage.
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Good organizational skills (time and territory management)
• Proven track record in sales desirable
• Meticulous maintenance of CRM for funnel management
• Able to adhere to deadlines
• Willingness to travel (10-15%)
• Proficient to work with personal computer, e-mail, CRM and Microsoft Office programs
